Empowering Young Minds

At Summit, we create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help children discover the joy of learning. Our unique approach incorporates the five core academic subjects into our seven enrichment classes.

Our Classes

Science

There's always something to discover in Science! Students explore the wonders of the natural world through hands-on experiments, engaging investigations, creative engineering challenges, and interactive STEM experiences that bring learning to life.

Throughout the year, students investigate a wide variety of scientific topics, including Earth and space science, life science, physical science, the human body, engineering, and the scientific method. From weather and geology to plants, animals, ecosystems, force and motion, and space exploration, students gain a deeper understanding of how the world works through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

Whether they're conducting experiments, participating in dissections, designing engineering projects, solving STEM challenges, or collecting and analyzing scientific data, every lesson encourages students to ask questions, think critically, and explore with confidence. Our multi-age approach allows students to learn at their own level while collaborating with peers, making observations, testing ideas, and discovering that science is all around them.

At Summit, we believe the best way to learn science is to experience it, creating curious learners who are inspired to explore, discover, and never stop asking, "Why?"

Reading & Grammar Exploration

Great stories spark curiosity, inspire meaningful conversations, and help children better understand themselves and the world around them. In Reading & Grammar Exploration, students build strong literacy skills through engaging novels, creative writing, rich discussions, and hands on learning experiences that bring every story to life.

Throughout the year, students journey through four exciting themed adventures that naturally integrate reading, grammar, vocabulary, writing, history, and geography. Every lesson encourages students to ask thoughtful questions, make real world connections, and grow as confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers.

Our curriculum is built around the belief that children learn best by doing. Instead of relying on worksheets and memorization, students participate in interactive activities, collaborative discussions, creative projects, map explorations, and writing workshops that make learning engaging and meaningful.

Each student builds a Composition Notebook that captures their learning and an Adventure Portfolio filled with polished writing and memorable projects that showcase their growth throughout the year.

At Summit, reading is about more than words on a page. It is about discovering new ideas, building empathy, exploring history, and developing a lifelong love of learning. Reading & Grammar Exploration invites students on an unforgettable journey where stories inspire adventure, confidence, creativity, and connection.

Leadership & Life Skills

Our Leadership & Life Skills class is designed to prepare students with the confidence, character, and practical skills they need to succeed in everyday life. Through interactive projects, collaborative challenges, and real-world experiences, students will learn that leadership isn't about being in charge, it's about making a positive impact on the world around them.

Throughout the year, students will explore three exciting units. They will begin by learning the foundations of economics and entrepreneurship, discovering how businesses work while creating and marketing their own business ideas. Next, students will be inspired by the lives of influential leaders and changemakers from history and today, learning the qualities that help people overcome challenges, serve others, and make a difference. Leadership through inspiring people. The year concludes with our Real World Ready unit, where students develop practical life skills such as communication, teamwork, public speaking, budgeting, time management, kitchen skills, digital citizenship, emotional intelligence, and basic safety and emergency preparedness.

Every lesson is active, hands-on, and designed to engage learners of all ages. Students will strengthen critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while building confidence, independence, and leadership that extends beyond the classroom.

At Summit Learning Center, we believe the most important lessons prepare students not just for their next grade level, but for life.

Explore Spanish: Language & Culture

Our Spanish class introduces students to the language and culture of Spanish speaking countries through engaging, age appropriate activities. Younger students explore foundational vocabulary, conversational phrases and songs, while older students build on grammar, sentence structure and real life application. Across all levels students develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing Spanish in a fun and interactive environment.

PE/Wellness

Our PE/Wellness class promotes an active lifestyle while nurturing the whole student physically, mentally, and socially. Students participate in a variety of fun, structured activities that build strength, coordination, and teamwork. Beyond physical fitness, our wellness focus helps students develop healthy habits, emotional resilience, and positive social skills. Whether they are playing team games, practicing mindfulness, or learning about overall health, students leave class energized, confident, and equipped with skills for lifelong well-being.

Music

Our Summit Music class is active, hands-on, and movement-based, giving students the opportunity to experience music rather than just listen to it. Through rhythm activities, instruments, movement, and interactive games, students stay engaged while building a strong foundation in music. They develop a natural understanding of beat, rhythm, tempo, and patterns, with older students also being introduced to basic note recognition.

Students are exposed to a variety of music styles from around the world, often connected to movement, culture, and real-life experiences. Through singing, group participation, and creative expression, they build confidence while developing listening and teamwork skills. This class is designed to be fun, energetic, and engaging while helping students grow both musically and socially.

Creative Arts & History

A hands on class where students explore art, creativity, and history through engaging projects, storytelling, and design based learning. Each week, students dive into meaningful, hands on experiences that bring history to life while building creativity, confidence, and critical thinking skills. From sculpture and painting to collaborative builds and signature projects, this class blends learning and fun in a way that keeps students excited and engaged.

Designed to be both fun and meaningful, this class helps students learn through doing, creating, and exploring.

Agriculture in the Classroom

Our Agriculture in the Classroom program brings learning to life through hands on experiences at the farm, utilizing the unique resources at Mortimer Farms along with curriculum from the National Agriculture in the Classroom.

Through engaging activities, games, and real world connections, students learn about farming systems, Arizona agriculture, and the journey from farm to table. Students explore how plants and animals grow and develop a deeper understanding of how agriculture impacts everyday life through interactive, outdoor learning.

Throughout the year, students engage in four units—Farm Foundations, Plants, Soil & Growing, Animals & Agriculture, and Sustainability & Food Systems—building a strong understanding of science, nature, and real world connections.

Designed to be both active and meaningful, this class encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a connection to the world around them in a way that truly brings learning to life.
